Thinking about buying a ft bigger tank and getting a 5ft

Any recommendations?

Ive just bought a brand new 5ft aquarium off ebay for £560 posted, comes with heater and brand new filter.
The one I bought is 60" x 20" x 20" but they do taller.

Is that the boyu make? Not sure on their quality

I donno if it matters on quality, I mean you can't really build a fish tank out of anything else.

As for filters, heaters they can all be replaced :p

Yeah but some glass will be better grade than others, or cabinets better built, thickness of glass, overall finish etc
I was looking at the juwel rio 400 for around £950 but it's expensive really...

I won't be keeping any filters the tank comes with I've got my own fx6 and ill buy an eheim too

http://www.ndaquatics.co.uk/?pg=pricelist starts from £613 with cabinet for a 60x24x18

Or scour Ebay, I won a Rio400 for £51 ~6 weeks back, delivered 2 days after I had sold my 5x2x2 for £75 (the look on my better half's face was priceless when the Rio arrived!!! :D). I kept the old cabinet, which the Rio400 sits on, down in the garage.

I saw that, I noticed the finish around the stand and tank looked like vinyl stickers which would no doubt flake off within months

Hmmm.

I do want new, I've never had a BIG new tank before!

If you are going as far as a five foot, you might as well get a six foot, your stocking is much easier then as you really don't need to worry too much about what you get (no snake head catfish though I suggest).

The space where it's going wont take 6ft unfortunately :(
I did want a 6ft 700+ lr but I just can't fit it there

One day I will have one! :p

Its chipboard coated in melamine so if was to get wet it would swell, its honestly not a bad tank and stand though.
You could order just a tank from them and build your own stand, there tanks are really nice.
