Chat For Macs

hello I have looked at the pin in this section but it doesn't mention anything I recognise about macs.
I always have bother getting ini and cant even see a window just a big white space.

any ideas...?

oh and java has been enabled for MRJ

or something.

I have a Macintosh and I use a program called Trillian to chat through....you can also use it for MSN, Yahoo, AOL etc.

I am running OSX though.....dunno if that makes a difference

what is trillion? is it like a browser, how does it work?

hello again can I also say that, none of the smilies work on here either, I cant put them in when I reply to a thread and none of the buttons at the top work for adding pics or links???/

although I have jst noticed that one has worked on the first post??? weird.

Have you searched for an IRC client for macs? I'm on a PC, but i did a quick google search and there were several results taht came up.

Trillian is basically a chat/IRC program. Really easy to DL and it works really well.

so does trillion run along side Internet explorer or is a totally separate program that opens when youaccess a chat room.?

Completely seperate program. It's like AIM, MSN, or ICQ.

Go here to find IRC clients for Mac OS 9. Version Tracker is a good site to find all kinds of Mac software.

right, I have downloaded a progrmm called shadowIRC 1.1 but I haven't a clue how it works, does anyone know?
There a upto ten different connections I can make it seems, Do i need to somehow input info from certain chat boards so it can connect to them?

ok now I am majorly confused, I have done some hunting and found out how to connect to the tff chat server, which I have done.

I can get a text page up and type in a box and my message comes up on the screen, but I dont seem to have a anyway of knowing if there is anybody there, if I am on the right channel or if anyone can see what I am typing. any ideas ???

after you have connected to the server, try typing /join #fishforums, that should get you into the room.

Hi there I managed to get into the room last night by typoing that #join fishforums.

But once in there, sometimes when I typed it came up the text " you are not an operator" :blink:
