Changing My Tropical Fish Stock

Just wondering what stocking would go best in my tropical tank? I'm having a change arround with some of my fish, removing some and hopfuly adding some

Currently I have:

Tank: Hexagon Aquael 60L Planted
Filter: Built in standard filter.
Measurements: 43cm long x 38 cm wide x 60cm high.
Tank has been running for aprox. 10-11 months.

x3 Guppy
x1 Marble Molly
x1 Platy
x5 Helequin Rosbora
x5 Amano Shrimp
x3 Assassin Snails


I'm thinking i'd like to put the Helequin Rosbore numbers up from 5 to 8 and add some Neon Tetra... would this be possible?

Doubt i'll be able to add another 9 fish to the currect stocking, so if I was to remove 1 Guppy, 1 Platy and 1 Marble Molly befor adding the 6 Neon Tetra and another 3 Helequin Rosbore? So it would look like:

x2 Guppy
x6 Neon Tetra
x8 Helequin Rosbora
x5 Amano Shrimp
x3 Assassin Snails[/i]

Would I be over my stocking limit do you think? Or would I get away with changing the stock to that, with out causing any problems.

I've been tol a good rule of thumb is 1cm of adult fish per litre as a guide. I don't believe that you have to worry about the shrimps or snails when calculating - unless you have a million of them

I may be wrong (I hope I'm not as that's what I'm working on for my tank) maybe someone else can qualify?

that sounds fine to me, add them in several lots though, giving the filter a week or two before the next lot and you should be fine, di

Not heard the centimeter per liter rule but a guide line is the inch per gallon rule. But this is flawed for many many reasons for example a 10 inch fish is not going to be happy in a 10 gallon tank. Also why are you looking at an inch per gallon? Is it because of activity levels or waste production, its probably a mix of the two but how can you compare an inch of one fish to an other for example an inch of a tetra compared to an inch of a plec is nothing so how can you judge them the same? Dont get me wrong the inch per gallon guide is a good way of totting up fish numbers in your head but you can go further in some cases or if the fish you have, have special needs this might mean you cant stock to your max stock levels if you see what I mean.

To the OP that list looks good to me I suggested a similar thing to you in your other thread as well

I'll get the x3 Helequin Rosbora tomorrow, then add the 6 Neon Tetra at the weekend possibly sunday... filter should have enough time to adjust then shouldn't it?

I usually like to leave it at least a week between adding fish but since these are only small it should be okay

Oh, it's Wednesday tomorrow , thought it was Tuesday tomorrow haha!

Should still be fine though, 4 days for the filter to adjust? I can wait untill next week some time, no rush... don't want to kill anything
