Im changing this tank, and i was thinking.

Its water changing day today and i thought, if i save all the water in the current 30x15x12 tank and placed it all in the 48x18x12 tank and top it up, would that constiitue a water change as such as i have diluted the nasties with the new conditioned water?

anyone? i need to do this 2nite so any comments soon would be cool :)

If the 'new' water is the same pH, temp. etc. then you shouldn't need to save any of the water, there's nothing in it really to help the tank. Are you using the same filter?

yep same filters and probably add another bigger one as the tank is bigger, but keep the others in there till the new one catches up. i wanted to save some of the water to make sure i dont get a bloom or anything
