Hi - I have a question about the filters in my tank.

In the filter I have the white filter on top and then the black filter ( I change both of these every water change), and then under these there is a blue and a green filter. What do I do with these - will I ever need to replace them or do I just wash them out in the water change water??

Thanks - hoping someone might be able to help.

Hi, the blue and green filter media should only be replaced when it is literaly falling apart. The black also if it is just black foam but if it is activated carbon then I would just leave it out altogether.

I would sugest cutting all the media in half and gently squeeze half of each in old or dechlorinated water at each water change then do the other half at your next water change. In other words never clean the whole media in any one water change. The white media should also be cleaned at each water change or replaced when really mankie.
