well for the pastr 6mnths ive been keeping tropicals, 2day i discovered i wanna keep mbuna or however u spell it

i have a fluval duo deep 1200 tank and the fluval 205 filter exterbnal and a internal tetratec filter

is this ok to change over to these fishies and how many fish could i keep?

also stocking suggestions, as the tank is in the front room the mrs has stated the brighter and more colourfull the better

water around here is idea for chichids i have read else where, very hard

many thanks

For your sized tank, you should stick to 12 mbuna, 3 species of 4 individuals (1m/3f), you could also have a bristlenose pleco, or a couple of a synodontis species catfish.

I'd suggest upgrading your filtration since mbuna are generally overstocked to cut down on aggression.

As far as which ones to get, go to your LFS and write down the names of the species you like, then research them, and we can help with compatability.

come on guys any more suggestions and advice on stocking would be great!
