Just upgraded from a Juwel Record 120 (120l) to an AquaOne evo 120 (260l) and would like some feedback on whether the centrepiece (statues) should stay or go. I think it looks un-natural but the wife likes it :/

Your thoughts please.

If you dont like it, what would you put in it`s place?

Edit: Video link didn`t work ????

Bin them, they look bloody awful.

Nice upgrade - bet your fish love twice the space :good:

Personally, I'd put a heap of bogwood in there. But that's just me :)

Nice upgrade. How about trying to hide it at the back left of the tank behind the plants and things.

Make it so that it is still visible, but hidden away by all the foliage like ruins would be.

Personally I would like to put some kind of LARGE root system in its place, but also like the open space as well. ????

The statues have never been used before, they were only put in to fill a big void but the other half took a keen liking to it. I`ll try and be nice

How do you get a video link to work ???

I`m using photobucket with an .flv file

which one do I copy and paste?

Email & IM
Direct Link
HTML Code
IMG Code

in my oppinon its awful BUT as you say the wife likes it  my wife went with me to a friends fish shop opening on saturday and he had them in the shop and she kept on at me to get one, ha sorry darling tank has no space UNLESS you want to buy a new tank to set up how you want, she soon gave up that idea  :hey:

video link
when you have the page open with all pics, click on img code then paste here

Haha, dont be owned by your wife :p you dont like it, bin it and explain later. Soon as she see's the large root system with the fish all swimming through, she'll see sense.

i would go with a nice peice of bogwood, but from experience if the wife likes it then it must stay frorever!

I'd get rid of it and move that bit of wood in the far right towards the middle a bit (keep it off centre though, split the tank up into thirds and put your main feature on one of the third lines for the best balance). Add some more plants and it will look lovely.

I ( a wifey as well lol) have a rock/castle combo in my 29 gallon and my husband actually likes what I did with it. I made sure to put tall plants around and put it in the corner so it's not a centerpiece. I don't like what you got there as the center. Maybe try a different location and make it more a part of the scenery with plants and such. It does look natural, just depends on what part of the water world you're thinking of. lol

doritz24,

Thanks, I like that idea. I`ll try a different location to start with and sort of obscure part of it with extra plants, get a nice pice of root type wood in the centre, hey presto, were both happy (ish).

Thanks.

accidently break it orrrrrrr does she know much about fish and stuff? cos u can say its got like a chemical on it thats killing the barbs.
