But it also takes 20+ years for a female to mature, plus you will need an enourmous lake that you can keep at 15-17*C all year. (If you are talking about the Beluga Sturgeon)

Which is the most expensive, im rearing those!!!!

I watched that too, the man from spain has a good little business going there. Its a shame they have to kill the sturgeon for their eggs though.

Did you see that woman drop £1000 worth of caviar on the floor lmao!

Btw you don't need a lake to keep them. They showed a sturgeon farm in spain, with 15ft x 10ft ponds, he had around 20 of them.

Great little business though.

Currently the most expensive is Almas Caviar (so expensive it comes in a 24k gold tin), it is white in colour and costs around £25,000/kg

It comes from the Belgua Sturgeon, matured to over 100 years old.

LMAO thats a good enough reason to start breeding them, ill have the lickings off the spoon when you come to sell your caviar  why do people spent such money on such yukky food when there are more important things to worry about

Get a 25ft x 25ft pond and about 5ft deep and some Acipenser gueldenstaedtii, produce the most expensive caviar and then wait. Youll be laughing when the money then rolls in when they mature.

Because they can !!

As an ex Military Chef i have had the pleasure of tasting Beluga caviar, albeit the more cheaper vintage and you would be suprised how good food tastes when you know how much it has cost no matter how disgusting it really is. Be honest, you just paid £1000 for a spoon full on toast, are you really going to spit it out and tell everyone how aweful it was?

Also, why go to the trouble of raising Sturgeon when you can go and fish for it? Anyone fancy a trip to Russia for a few weeks ?
