Care For Gouramis?

ive only had platies, guppies. coreys... they are easy (level ov 1-10 they are a 2)
on a level from 1-10 how hard/hardy are gouramis? tell me about them...

Well, if you place Guppies and Platies at a 2 on the scale out of 10 for being hardy fish,..... I'm afraid Gouramies (and Corries) will not feature on your scale.....

In perspective, I'd say if your Platies and Guppies rate at 9, Gouramies (in general), would fall in at around 8 and corries at 6..... (unless you're looking at it from the other end of the scale...... Most types of Gouramies are not difficult to keep at all..... It is sometimes just a bit of a hassle to sort out the male / female ratio to prevent bullying.... Normally 1 male to 2 females would be fine.....

I assumed the OP meant a 2 out of 10 for 'difficultness', so that would be pretty easy

In addition to this you would need to make sure the tank is ample size and you need to check your tank mates are suitable with Gouramis. But there are some very hard to care for Gouramis and some that grow very big, so don't assume all gouramis are 'easy'

A very easy, peaceful type are the Honey Gourami. I have mine in a community tank with many different species and they are thriving and breeding. They visit all areas of the tank. On a scale of 1-10, I would say they are a 2.5. Get one male to every 2 or 3 females. Watch out for any of the females getting bullied and be prepared to remove and re-home if that's the case.

Easy to care for but grows to 5", is usually very territorial and needs plenty of space. 35 gallon or more recommended
