hey thanks for voteing

all the websites say that cardinals are a harder species to keep ???

appriciate anyone else who has an opinion

Cardinals were less hardy as until recently they were all wild caught & needed more time to acclimatise. Now they are tank bred they seem more tolerant.
I've had individuals of both species to over eight years old & think it depends on the health of the stock purchased. Neither thrives in less than mature tanks and neons possibly get more abuse as they are cheaper.

Interesting... I was under the impression that they were still wild caught, are you sure?

Cards travel poorly- even if its just from the store home to your tank. I lost many of them at first til a person with 50 years of experience keeping fish told me a great trick to increase the survival rate- feed them newly hatched bbs for the first week or two after you get them.

Cardinals are defo the more hardiest without a doubt.Neons are far far to fussy about water conditions Personally i think Neons are getting even worse

yea i never really liked the neons quite a bit....

why do ppl get neons when cardinals have more color and are hardyer....

i think it pays off for the extea 50-90 cents more they cost

I hate neons because they are so weak and have been so overbreed, its nearly imposable to find heathy ones these days

your lucky then because in my experiance quality neons are hard to find
