I added 6 cardinals to my nano tank on sunday. The water parameters are:

Ammmonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 30
pH: 6.8
GH & KH both are 7

The cardinals have spent a large amount of time hiding in the plants / behind the rock. Will they overcome this shyness?

Also, I have put flake in both yesterday and today, and they've not touched it, so i've ended up having to scoop it out again. Is this something that I should be quite worried about or will they start feeding when they are getting more hungry?

THanks,

Jee

You might try not feeding them for a day and then crumbling the flake up between you fingers when you feed them, if this fails try a different food. They shouldn't really hide up ,but i'm sure it will be just a matter of time before they show themselves.

My Cardinals never ate for three or four days when I first introduced them. After a while, they started picking at flakes but kept spitting them back out. Give them time and they will be hungry enough to start taking flakes.

Try frozen bloodworm rather than flake if it goes on for more than a few days.
