I lost a few Cardinals and Platys in the past few days so i changed the light in my tank to a "blue moon" bulb. No dead fish and no aggression from the Clown Loaches anymore. An amazing transformation. Even my Psychotic Platy has calmed down.Is this my imagination or does the calm blue light actually change the atmosphere in the tank. It also looks better now as i changed the backround to a deep blue and it shimmers beautifully at night with all other lights off. My wife is getting worried about me spending hours staring at my fish..is this normal.?

think spending ages staring at fish is normal, i spend all day doing it & my hubby thinks i've lost the plot lol. but at least i know how my fish act so notice the slightest change very quick with them as i've constantly got my head near the tank :D

I find that by staring at them for hours on end i become more familiar with there individual patterns and behaviour. For instance , i know when my 2 x clowns go into hiding the first thing to happen is that my Platy becomes king of the tank and starts bullying everything else. Dont think its good for my eyes though with the new blue light.

I noticed it in the place where i purchased my fish.Every tank had one so i thought it must be good.I firmly believe it has solved the aggression rates in my tank.

blue lights, or actinic blue lights, do very little for plants. the spectrum is way off
