Where did you put the in and out tubes for your filter? opposite ends of the tank? next to each other. Can someone clarify how this is supposed to be set up. I've got a 30 gallon with an eheim 2234 filter.

aint no rule. but as far apart as you can is a good maxim, although if that mucks up the decor you wont get shot for moving one of both

I have mine on opposite sites of the tank, putting them right next to each other will just let the pump suck up the cleaned water.

I have always had mine next to each other. The outlet sprays away across the surface while the inlet is far deeper taking water from closer to the substrate.

I don't think there is really a great deal of difference to be made however you set them up, so long as the inlet is not inside the outlet.
