Can I Put All Fish From 110L In A 28L Tank Whilst Changing Substrate?

HI,
I`ve got the following fish in my110l tank,- 5 corries,2 dwarf gouramis ,[1m,1f],6 green fire tetra,8 glowlight tetra,2 pitbull plecos,6 shrimp
and these fish are in my 28l at the moment-1 betta,5 neon tetra ,2 shrimp,now i want to change the substrate from gravel to sand in my 110l, and instead of putting all the fish into a bucket would i be able to put them in my 28l whilst i clean the tank and change the substrate,i`d put the filter from the 110l in the28l too ,just so that my media wouldn`t die,if so how long for?

Have you not got a bucket you could put a few in too? Sounds a bit cramped to me. There would be no need for a filter in the bucket, they can survive quite happily for a fair few hours without a heater and a filter.

I used a bucket and my 35ltr, putting the smaller hardier fish in the bucket

a bucket would definitely be better and make sure your new substrate is washed before you start!

The bucket would be fine to keep some of the fish in. If you have a couple of buckets then this is even better. You would not need a heater or a filter, but like you say if you could keep your filter running in some tank water then this would be beneficial for you bacterial colony.

3 buckets, 2 for fish and 1 for the filter. One of those big plastic storage boxes would be even better. Stick a towel under it so its not directly on the floor, and summat over the top as a lid (dont want no crispy jumpers ) - jobs a good un they'll be fine in there for the 2-3 hours it takes to change substrate.
