hello! i have a lot of guppies in my tank and i really want to get 3 or 4 female bettas because from what ive read, it wouldnt be a problem. im thinking if adding one male betta would be a mistake. can someone please let me know and give suggestions? (i was thinking of getting some mollies too, but if i do end up getting the bettas i feel like it would be too much for them all)

How large is your tank? Multiple female bettas never works for very long. Most veteran betta keepers will tell you that sororities always fail eventually unless you have a large tank--40 gallons or more--planted jungle-dense, and an equally large number of females. Even then, things often break down and the females get picked off one-be-one. Adding a male would be pouring gasoline on the fire.

Mollies are a bad match for bettas. They require different water conditions, among other behavioral, dietary and activity considerations.
