Can I Have Lyretail Killifish In My Tank?

i pan on having it planted with java fern, java moss,dwarf anubias,congo anubias and 1 other backround plant

subsrate will be black sand

lighting will be florescent

tank inhabitants will be...

8-12 shoaling fish(tetras?)
4-6 cories/catfish(upside down catfish?)
2 lyretail kilifish

if you could give suggestions on the shoaling and catfish that would be greatly appreciated and also what i would have to do to keep lyretails because i want the 40 gallon built around these

i know about cycling and am currently running a 15 gallon with 7 danios,6 cherry barbs and 1 mystery snail
