Can I have Cherry Barbs?

Just wondering, I was eyeing them at the pet store, but I thought they were hard water l:

future stocking ideas:

1 Albino BNP
6 Bloodfin tetras
10 Silvertip tetras
3 Cherry Barbs
6 Buenos Aries tetras
6 Glo-tetras
10 Glowlight Tetras

would that be overstocked?

Do you already have the other fish, or is this a list for the future?

I would prefer to see fewer species but more of each species. 10 silver tips and 10 glowlights are fine, but you have three species with only 6 and one species with only 3. Instead of these four, it would be better to have just two, and have 10 of each. This would make a total of 4 species with 10 each.

So -
10 silvertips
10 glowlights
and 10 of two of bloodfins, cherry barbs, Buenos Aires and glo tetras.


But if you already have some of the fish in your list, you would need to work round them.

I agree with @Essjay , you will be better with larger groups of fewer species, as the fish will be healthier and that means less stress and problems for you too.
