Probably not but thought I would ask to be sure. I have a full grown Red Severum and seen an adorable Green Severum at the LFS today. It is about 3.5". Can't tell what sex it is. Would my other Sev accept it ???

It is a 75 Gal. tank. My Red is a big baby but I have never put another Cichlid in there.

Was going to go with a Festivum but can't find any. Then I liked the Knife Fish until I seen they get to be 36" !

Also.... I have an Oplaine Gourmai, 3 Tinfoils, And a Pictus catfish...that's it. Tinfoils will be re-homed before too long.

Did some internet research and I don't think it will work. Back to the drawing board

Well I just added a Green Sevrum to my tank that has two 7” Gold Severums already and everybody gets along fine. The extent of there fighting is just a quick chase from the other severums or firemouth.

Really ? Hmmmmm. Maybe I could "try" it . I do have a 30 gal. right now with just some Danios in it I could move it to temporarily if a chaos occurs. What do Y'all think ?

I would go for it too. I had no problems introducing a 3" severum to an 8 incher. And since you have the 30g, it would be pretty low risk.

I rescaped the tank this morning. Took out the fake ornaments and added driftwood and slate. Went to LFS and the Severum was gone. I did come home with 5 beautiful Rainbow fish though. 2 are Marci and the other 3 unidentified. The 3 looked silver in the store but I see 1 looks peach in color and the other 2 green. It really brightened up my tank...I am happy (other than the price of them) ! Going to get 3 more of them next week. They are trying to shoal with the Tinfoil Barbs  I hate those Tinfoils but if the Rainbows are happy with them ....maybe I will keep them a bit longer

I'd up the rainbow shoal to 6-8, should look awesome then, and no need for tinfoil barbs.

I agree Cheesy. I am going to re-home the Barbs and add more Rainbows. Then try to find the Festivum. I can drive an hour away to a bigger city and likely find the Festivum there.

One other question....I have a brown algae problem. I am looking for a Bristlenose. The LFS owner told me the Chinese Algae Eater would work best and I could add 2 or 3 to the tank. They are rather small.....What are your thoughts on this ?

Hell no!Go back and inform him that they rarely eat algae, and as adult don't.Its tiring all FS's seem to advertise these as small algae eating fish but in reality they won't eat any algae, will outgrow most tanks, and create havoc.I praise you for coming back here to ask :good:
They have the tendacy to suck fishes slime coats and eye balls out...And I have never, ever, even with young ones, seen them eat algae...And as adults it is well known that they don't eat algae.
Terrible fish imo since of the above and also that they are shy and don't really do anything.
Good luck getting a festivum :good: For a short time I had a stunning pair.

Thank you Cheesy ! I am considering asking if he needs some help. This is a single owner business and he is experienced in saltwater mostly from what I have observed.
