I've just been looking on java-plants and I like the look of the 24" plant collection:

24 inch TROPICAL PLANT COLLECTION
(60 plants)
5 x Echinodorus Tennellus
5 x Hygrophilia Polysperma
5 x Red Ludwigia
5 x Ambulia Aquatica
5 x Bacopa Monniera
5 x Red Ivy
5 x Diplis Diandra
5 x Vallis Torta
5 x Elodea Densa
5 x Hairgrass
5 x Bacopa Caroliniana
5 x Sagittaria Subulata

How much coverage would 5 of each give in a 260l tank? Is there a good mixture of background and foreground plants?

I also like the following:

Tiger lotus
willow leaf
crypt nevillii
anubia nana

I'm new to all this so do you think I would get on ok with all of the above or are some bad choices to start off with?

Many Thanks

I think that maybe too much.

You need good lights,ferts,co2 if you plan to plant that much

But for just £7.95 surely I can just get rid of what I dont need or cant handle?

What is 5 plants classed as, 5 seperate stems that are still bunched together in one pot?

I will most likely be using tetraplant substrate due to cost and ideally dont want to be injecting co2 as I haven't got a clue!

Will quite happily learn about other ways of maintaining plants such as regular feed and pruning.

WPG has been worked out to 1.5 so not that high, can you get 50w lights as otherwise I need to add more somehow?

Many thanks

5 plants = 5 stems

the ludwigia & didiplis diandra might be bit of a problem.

If you want 50w, then add 2 x 25w

for £8, you might as well just buy it and then take out anything that's struggling :D

Tis what I thought, if you always stick with what you know you'd never get to try new things so I'm happy to spend £8 in this case.

As I bought my filter today my next thing on the list is to get the wall behind the tank fixed so I can then buy the substrate and gravel!

Well the most expensive part is done now... right? lol

Problem in what way - Difficult to maintain and will die or something else?

They require high light & i am not totally sure but the didiplis may need CO2 injection, but like you say, just take them out.

take the "5 x Red Ivy" out straight away... they requite like 45674087WPG to live.

or plant it in a pot and give it lots of water...
