Calcium Deposits On Hood?

I have a problem with this white crusty stuff on my tank hood. I had this problem with the last one I had also. It is something in my water...is it hard water build up, or calcium...how do I remove it? Thanks.

its dried hard water. Warm water and elbow grease gets rid of it.

Try vinegar. The acid in vinegar will help to dissolve the calcium and it is perfectly safe in case you get a little in the tank for some reason.
