Thanks.. I have a 100 litre water storage tank which I purchased recently and bought a TMC pump to put inside the tank, So will do a 20% water change every 2 weeks. Will probably start using RO water.
 
These are the electrical items that will be in the hood and cabinet.

-1 x Oase Biomaster 850
-1 x 400w Heater
-2 x TMC REEF Flow 2.0 4000 Power Heads
-1 x 2 x 100mm PC Fans in the hood
-1 x 20w 6500K Light unit
-1 x 5w Blue GU10 Light unit
-1 x Eheim Air pump
-1 x Eheim UV unit
-1 x Inkbird Temp controller
-1 x Cabinet light unit

-2 x 5 Way Switched Extension Leads

Doing some work on the cabinet today.

I drilled some holes in the trunking to run the cables through.

I put self adhesive vinyl in the filter section.

It really depends on the rest of your house style.

For me, I would sand it smooth, stain it dark walnut and matte varnish to keep the natural wood look.

Great idea but the quality of the outer bendy ply is not the best.. You can clearly see the wood fibres showing through from bending the ply to the shape. I dont think any amount of sanding will help. If I use a stain or varnish it would not be a smooth finish and the grain is not very nice so I might have to paint it with some heavy coats..
 
The cabinet was not smooth enough for paint or a stain so decided to Matt vinyl wrap it. I wrapped the hood
and it does not look to bad.

I fitted an IEC Plug socket to the hood. The fans will be wired directly to this socket so I can unplug it and remove the hood easily.
