Buying Online

So i was just looking for some info on different species and found this site based in Cali. Is it a good idea to order fish online? They have stuff Ive never seen in Petsmart.

Really depends. It can go both ways. Yes lots of fish are available online that otherwise are not available to most. It can be a good way to get fish. However don't expect great deals. You will pay a lot for shipping. $15 for priority and $30 for express. Most places won't guarantee priority. Ordering a few fish normally is not worth it. It also comes down to what kind of fish you are shipping. Also who it is coming from. I did a few orders off aquabid which where ok... I am much more picky about who I buy fish from now. Before I use to go buy based on a picture with no background. Where as now I tend to buy based on background and often don't even see a pic of the fish. My wild panda garras were the last fish I ordered. I forget exactly what country they shipped in from, but can look it up. Then spent 1-2 days in PA at Anubais Design and they took their merry time (4 days) to get to Wisconsin.

also the thing i didnt like about buying online is that you are relying on somebody else to choose your fish for you whereas i like to inspect the fish and pick my own ,

I have both bought and sold fish online. I agree with the others though, you MUST know your seller. A good seller will take a picture of the fish for sale and send it to you at your request (beware sellers that won't show you the actual fish for sale) and will have a great record of sales. Always read the feedback from other buyers.

Ask questions! Ask how they will be packaged, what food they have been eating, the readings of the water they were kept in (especially GH and KH,) etc.

Where to you live? I can recomend wetspotcx on aquabid best fish. shipped perfectly in any weather. Always very healthy and great looking. Also they will help with any question. Another place I bought from was thatpetplace.com shipping is a lot but they have good fish at a good price.

Snook21 on aquabid has been recomended to me by a friend who buys from him.

I say buying off line is better then getting fish from some lfs all the fish I have bought off line never have ich and are in tip top shape.
