Hi guys, I need to build a lid for my 5ft tank, I have never done anything like this before, dont get me wrong, I know how to cut wood and put it together and i have an idea of how I want to build it.

My questions are.......

should I use Chipboard, Plywood, or MDF?

do I need to treat it in anything?

Thanks guys

Stu

Plywood would be best imo with a hard wood frame. MDF and chipboard would absorb to much in the high humidity air from the tank causing problems. You can get marine quality plywood but its expensive so a pond sealant on the inside would be more cost effective to seal the wood from the humidity.
