Hi. I am having a big problem with brown algae. I tried the new light. I found an article on the internet and did what it said and none of that worked. I tried the new light bulb, I added more aireation, I scrubbed the tank, replaced the decorations, bought new plants, bought apple snails and nothing has worked. Please help in any way possible.
I have a 55 gallon tank. I have 3 angelfish, 6 coryy cats, and 1 apple snail. My pH level is 7, no ammonia, and the tempature is 78f. I don't know the other levels like nitrates. Any other questions ask me and thanks for any help u can give.

i've found that brown algae goes away on its own as the tank matures. if not, your lighting level may be too low.

If your worried then Algae Destroyer may help. It destroys all plant material and is harmless to fish. I do not reccomend it if you've got live plants. It will kill the live plants and be sure to read the warning label. It will say that algae destroyer contains chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancer.

I wil tell you why you are not getting rid of your Alge. You are only using 1 Snail. You need to use 1 Snail for every 10g. For a 55g you need 5 Snails.

In my 29 I had full Alge on the Gravel and walls. I only had one Snail and it onhly helped a little. I added 2 snails and my Alge problem is almost all gone.

Trust me put 5 Snails in and your problem will be solved.
