Well i've been looking for one for ages to go with my senegal and in Carlise maidenhead they had a sign for one but couldnt see it so go the staff to look for it , it's about 13-14 inches long and looking very healthy. They found it in their tank with the young red tail catfish. it turns out it quite frequent manages to get between the main show tanks through the piping linking them .
Cost £50 which i didnt think was so bad for a fully grown one . It's gone in my new tank with a 6inch ish oscar . Can't put it with my senegal as id imagine it would eat as my senegals about 5inch and looks a bit like a worm in build!

Will grab pictures some time tomorrow when it's a bit lighter (no tank lights yet)

They also said they'll get me a sobium Lima in for me , they got told they were getting some but turns out they were given two tiger shovel nose cats instead! theyll have fun selling them!

Think i'lll call the Delhezii after my self - Ben and the Oscar after the Girlfriend - Laura.

hey i have 2 delhezi's, my favourite bichir, getting a couple of endlicheri's in a month or so as i like them too! so i'll have 2 delhezi's, 2 endlicheri's and 2 albino senegal's lol.
thats big for a delhezi, my first one is about 10" now and my new one is about 6", i got my first one from maidenhead aquatics in blackpool for £25 and it was around 8".
i think £50 is a little steep but they are lovely fish and if your happy with it, thats all that counts!

Dave

Yeh it is a little expensive but ive been on the look out for one for ages and its pretty much fully grown so in my opinion well worth the money .
Already started eating the prawns i popped in this morning .

yeah, not many about at all, i was looking for another for months then spotted them on the lfs list so ordered one, £20 i payed, its about 6 inch, cute little thing and gets along fine with the bigger one, well they swim right upto each other and dont seem to aknowledge each other!
I have my albino senegals in a smaller grow up tank at the moment ar there onlx around 4 inch! And will be ordering 2 endlicheri's soon, i found them for £20 each too! Will have a collection of bichirs before i know it!
Anyway, good luck with yours there gorgeous fish!
Dave

Whats the endlicheri's like ? they very nocturnal ? Love Bichir's my favourite fish , shame theyre pretty expensive, the senegal's even cost around £10 and they're classed as the common bichir .

HAHA welcome to my hell!

You will likely get the collection addiction very soon . . .
There are only a couple of bichirs left for me to get to complete a species collection.

Once they start getting big, you will be bitten with the bug. trust me. . .

Added pictures now !

Yeh i'd love a collection but unfortuantly theyre pretty expensive and require big living quarters!

love him he's ace, I've always wanted one of these and an endelechri or however you spell it

£50 for a del that size is a bit steep but thats no del, nice weeksi. I can't find any in the uk what so ever, also Dave pm me where your getting you endli i'd love some more myself.

Keep me in mind if you ever come to sell her

very nice my weeksii's only 5" atm beautiful fish. there sellin weeksii's in worthing if your interested

Stunning, nice choice :nod:Is it really that big though (sorry to question) I can't wait till I get myself some more bichirs.Loved my senegal bichirs!

i haven't measure it but it appears to be about half the width of my tank when it's kinda straight if not a little more. my tanks 24inch wide so thats how i came up with the size:) POne day might take the fish out and measure them but i've always thought it'd stress the fish. Hmm it was labelled asa delhezi and looks like one until i saw that weeksi picture. Oh well my search for the delhezi go's on then lol!!

Any idea what they're generally worth then? i've had a look on aquarist classfied and tff and they're not on their. Any idea if it will get on with the senegal as well? Senegal's currently in another tank until it grows a little.

edit * just looking at their profiles and looks like they grow pretty big , my tanks gotvolume and width but not the length would a 4x2x2 be ok for one of these? also how do you tell what species is it ? reading online it says that there are 7-8 dark vertical bands which vary in thickness between individuals. 10-13 dorsal finlets. The mouth is relatively small for the fish's size on the delhezi and There are 9-11 dorsal finlets for the weeksii so not much difference.

Bump, anyone got an idea on value of a weeksii this size and how to tell between weeksii and delhezi
