Broken Clay Flower Pots

i have had permission to take smashed bits of clay pots if i want them. unfortunately none are whole but there are maqny smooth rims.
the question is if i where to use these pieces in like a slate type formation would the clay pot parts effect the water or even harmful to the fish?

only sharp edges could possibly be any problem.
