Breeding Oscars.....

In the immortal words of Van Wilder. "massage oil and barry white" or barry manilow in your case. have you given them the birds and the bees speech? how about candles?

Felt kinda silly when I did it, but hopefully the neighbours did not see me....

You'd think it would be the least they could do for you on your special day :D

good luck mate...

*walks away whistling a cheerful tune whilst gazing up at the stars*

if you get yours to breed in the next two weeks......i'll eat my oscars!!! (sorry but just trying to make you realise you may be attempting the impossible.... lol!)

I get this uncanny feeling that somebody's gonna eat his Oscars......

These are the prawns I'm feeding 'em with Earthworms; Bloodworms; and pellets.....

HER oscars, eat HER oscars ludwig, thank you very muchly!

may i ask how old your oscars are? apparantly they dont breed until they around 18 months of age?

just thought if you knew the age you may have a better chance of knowing when they'll breed?

Sorry then man!!!, (I mean ma'm)..... just assumed "she" would not walk away into the sunset "whistling".... but lets narrow this down to a Tee.... Spishkey....are you having them cooked or as sushi and will it be with vinegar or do you prefer mustard sauce????...

Yesterday after the latest water change, the both of them stay inside of that giant flowerpot, only coming out to eat (vigorously).... will let you know. (yea... these may be just over 18 months).... after the birds & bees talk I've had with them, they'll be prematurely ripe.

Sounds promising, how much longer have you got them for before they go to their new home?

well we're having a halloween BBQ so may wait until then.......

Frankly,.... Just thinking about it..... I do think Oscars will make a nice table fish....(dryish white wine) Nice sturdy, not too many fine bones...... I'm tempted.... and with a build like that, I also think they would be a supurb angling fish.... Give you a fight for your life on light tackle.... Hmmm..??

I'm now totally convinced that these two will not consider to devour the Platie/Mollies and convicts sharing their quarters.....

They are prolific eaters, but they leave the live stuff alone... see them all feeding alonside, and there are even new Platy babies in there.....

And btw Spishkey.... think you can relax for now..... They were only in the flowerpot probably because of the water change.... Now everything is settled, they are swimming around outside again....

i wasnt worried one bit ludwig! *wipes sweat from her brows quickly*

i have some pics coming of an oscars 'bits' (the ladies tube and the mans willy!) if your interested, so you know what to look out for? statlers been getting his, erm, trousersnake out a lot lately, he seems to do that a day or two before waldorf lays.

and yes, it is tiny, should make some of you guys sigh in relief eh????

Yep!... This is embarrasing, but once they get it, I'll know what to look for, thanks.
