Breeding Molly And Guppy

in one of my tanks i have 5 mollies and one male guppy. he always tried to mate with the mollies. is it possible for a molly and guppy to have fertile offspring?

They are in the same genus, so it is theoretically possible but I dont think there have ever been any confirmed examples.

There have been reports of crosses but I have often kept mollies with guppies and have never seen a cross. Of course it may happen eventually. After all I have only been doing this since about 1957.
