Ok,
I have 2 bettas doing something else. I want them to breed but their not. I've done every thing right and now that they have been together for 1 hour, the female just hides in the corner!

HELP?!

It can take quite a while with some pairs. If she's not getting too harrassed, leave her out for another hour and the put her back in the chimney and try again tomorrow.

Our first spawn we left too it and they took about 24hrs before they started spawning. Others we used the method above and it generally makes them spawn quicker on the second release.

thanks Netty, i'll try that. my poor male is doing everything he can to get the female to the nest.

At least he's trying, which is a good sign :good:

the tank has fine gravel so should i put a plate or something under the nest?
really don't want to tear the tank apart.

It may work, but it is much easier for the male to find his eggs on a bare bottomed tank :good: Plus when the eggs hatch the fry will be easier for him to see, plus it will be easier to keep it clean :good:

I let her out of the trap as she looked like she wanted to. she instantly lached onto the males fin and wouldn't let go till he cloths lined her on the heater!

Lets see how it goes!
