Breeding Going Well!

i'll see.

Why does it matter?

No not necessarily its just nice for us to see photo's  and it also means if for any unlikely reason there is any trouble with the fish we can help you more efficiently :good:

ok. I let them out this morning and it is going well (i think). the male got the female under his bubble nest and is trying to bring her back to it. no fighting so far!

ok, now the female is under the nest and the male is flaring and making an "S" shape with his body. she's doing the s thing too.

thats better than tetras. they make me do ALL the work. also, once the babies are strong free swimmers, can i fill the tank all the way up?

No......It'll be about 3 weeks before they take their first breath. Then you can raise it gradually :good:

ok. that will help water changes i guess...
Once they hatch are they a whole lot harder to raise than other fish?

Its just constant work really. Whilst they are all together its not to bad, but once they need seperating the water changes can take ages. What are you going to feed them?

I've used hikari first bites for my 35 successful black skirt tetra breeding so... i trust it to say the least.

Not knowing how small those tetras are, and not knowing how small the first bites are, i dont know whether they will be suitable. We use Vinegar eel to start with, then freshly hatched brine shrimp. There is a food called Betta starter which is like a powder, but even that has to be ground even finer.

The other problem with powdered foods, is that the babies will be on the bottom feeding so you have make it sink and it can foul the water quite quickly.
