hello. I've read heaps of posts about breeding corys. Does this mean it's quite easy? -_-
If anyone's bred corys, what have you bred.
I want to breed something. my platties are pregnant, but that's easy.
Does anyone have any advice about breeding corys????
Any info would be really appreciated. :D

Hi sushi :)

I'm glad to see you are thinking about raising some corys. Many of them are easy egglayers to breed and they are a good choice for a beginner breeder, but there are some species that are challenging enough for an experienced breeder to enjoy as well.

I've raised bronze and albino C. aeneus, C. sterbai, and C. pandas. My C. melini are now spawning, but I'm having trouble with the eggs hatching.

I would recommend the bronze or albino C. aeneus for a beginner to breed. They are popular and you should have no trouble selling or giving away their fry once they are big enough. They will often spawn on their own or with just cool water changes.

Here's the link to a thread where I discuss the equipment I use. Just scroll down a bit.

If you would like to try breeding them, I'll be glad to help you.
