Breeding cage/nets

I'm considering buying a breeding cage/net, but before I do, I'd like someone to tell me whether these are successful or a waste of money.

it depends what your trying to breed.

If it's something like guppies it would be useful, but if your breeding oscars they would have limited use
 
Sorry, I should've been more clearer......

Long-finned leopard danio's. Egg layers. I need to seperate the parents from eating the eggs they've laid.

My thoughts are that the parent fishes would get stressed from being confined then they'd stop/abort laying their eggs.
 
breeding traps are no use for egglayers i think, try get a small tank..a 5 gal and a layer of marbles on the bottom of the tank.
 
I find that if the case is not serious, they make a good tempory hospital tank and always make a good "bully box"! But if the fish is giving birth, it just makes them stressed!
