I got this fish a while back but so far no one has been able to identify what type of fish it is, it's a very elusive fish and to see it out and about in the tank is very very rare but I managed to get a few good snaps of it, does anyone have any clues?

I would suggest it is Synodontis angelica, common names like polka-dot upside down catfish or similar. I hope you have a large tank, as it will attain 10 inches/25 cm, with records of some reaching 23 inches/60 cm in the wild. As it grows it will eat smaller fish. More data here:

I will have a look but I don't think it is an upside down catfish as it spends most of it time right way up

Sorry my mistake I've just looked and they are identical I think you are right thank you
