I have always wanted to play the violin but as a kid my parents wouldn't let me saying "you play the piano, isn't that enough". So I kept playing the piano for many years (exams and all) till when I was at uni and uni study took up too much time to be able to do the required amount of practise for my level.
So a few weeks ago I was talking to a girl at work who learnt the violin as an adult and said it is do-able especially if I know how to read music and all. So I organised lessons and yesterday bought my first violin.
Here it is:
At the moment it sounds OK though yesterday it sounded a bit like a dead cat
Of course I have no idea ATM which note is which and how I am meant to play
I have my first lesson next weekend and can't wait!!!
OH....the violin cost me $260 including the violin, bow, case, rosin erm, tuner and shoulder rest. I am still thinking of what fishy stuff I coulda bought with the money
