Bottom Feeder For 10 Gallon

I've just got myself a new 10 gallon tank, it will house 1 male betta and a few snails, I was wondering are there any nice bottom feeders that would fit in the tank? I really fancy kuhli loaches, but I'm sure you will all say the tank is too small.

I just got some pygmy corys for my 10 gallon. Quite darling I must say. I have six but will up that to 10 some day. Shrimp are also a possibility for you.

Do you have anything else in your 10 gallon with the corys?

I've considered shrimp but not sure how they'd be with my betta. He comes first in the tank.

What about some Bumblebee Gobys, they should be OK as long as you get the freshwater species.

First thoughts are that they look good. I'll do some research on them and see

edit: they aren't recommended with betta fish

See I'm torn between the loaches and cories so far. I just don't want my snails eaten. Guarantee these loaches won't eat my snails and they win.

Second the pygmy cory suggestion. I have some in a 180l with angels, harlequins etc and they are great to watch Good little characters.

Was looking at kuhli loaches today, very interested in these. Would they eat apple snails? or are these too big to be eaten by loaches?

I half like these, however the only LFS that stock them are Peter Barrats where it's more like "spot the live fish".

Hmm thats a bit of a pain. I would think most LFS would be able to order them in if you ask and tbh there worth the effort, there great little fish.

I'll do my research and see what I come up with.

In fairness Peter Barrats are the only "bad" LFS around; the rest are pretty decent.

Gotta say that having kept kuhli loaches I honestly wouldn't even feel comfortable keeping them in a 60l. They are SOOOO active it's unvelievable. In a 10gal they'd either be bouncing off the sides (literally!) or they'd have they nature surpressed.

The pygmys are a good idea.

Or poss amano shrimp, a male betta will almost definitely have a go at any of the smaller types.
