It sounds like you are more frustrated than bored with your tanks.

I'd have to agree with that,

If you've only been introduced to fishkeeping via a couple of 10G tanks then you haven't really experienced 95% of fishkeeping
Its almost like being taken to a great theme park and then being told your only allowed to go on one little ride,

lol. my dad says the fish r fine, im still trying 2 convince him. ive asked my aunt and uncle a couple times b4 about the tank, but theyve always said no, and theyre nawt even using it!!! i think if i get the tank, I'll give all the females away (except the mom, she can stay in the 10 gallon until she runs out of sperm, lol) and put all the males together in the big tank. then i can get things like cories, and more ottos, cuz i hav 3 of them already. true, i guess i am frustrated. anyways, i gtg, being yelled at now, lol.

Hi ally86ozzy :)

It sounds like you are more frustrated than bored with your tanks. I can't say I blame you! When you get bogged down when you have a lot of baby fish and more on the way, and a parent who is less supportive than he might be, it's natural to feel that way.

Perhaps you could speak to your aunt and uncle about their old tank. If they aren't going to use it anymore, perhaps they will give it to you. Many people who stopped keeping fish hate to throw away a perfectly good aquarium that they spend a lot of money on, but would give it (or sell it cheap) to someone who could make use of it.

You'll also need some plan for getting rid of the excess fish, at some point. If you don't, you'll just end up with the same problem on a bigger scale. There are many egg laying fish that you could consider that won't pose that problem for you.

Don't worry about being young on this forum. We have members of all ages and some of the youngest are surprisingly good at keeping fish.

ur right inchworm about the young thing lol, im only 16 and been keeping fish that long, i have got a 125L tank with community trops and a 200L with malawis! :)

hi ally (if that's how you spell your name), i'm 13 and i never got bored of fish since half of fish keeping for me is the plants. i always buy new plants and see how much happier the fish look...
is your tank planted?
i picked other since an really attractive and sleek fish is a ghost knife fish and is rather hardy but very timid, but should really open your eyes to the joys of keeping fish.

Stick with it, you've already achieved loads by being able to breed some of your fish. Yes going bigger is a challenge in itself as it opens up the types of fish you can keep immensly.

I agree with some of the comments, planting and scaping the tanks is a good challenge if you don't do it already. Also converting one of your tanks to SW and keeping small marines and inverts can also be an interesting challenge. I can see the frustration. I had that when I lost nearly all of my 50 cory fry, also when I had a bad bout of Ich and lost lots of nice fish. But we carry on and I take it as an opportunity to restock with new fish and learn from my mistakes and experiences.

plant it up baby. oh yeah. :hyper:

lol. that wuz my random funny stuff 4 the day. my aunt and uncle were just here, and i 4got 2 ask them bout the tank!!! lol. i think i will plant one of them, but i hav 2 go now, being yelled at again, lol. its 9:30 where i am, so im bein yelled at 2 go 2 bed. bye, and thnx!!!

just wanna say: ambulia is the best plant in the world!!!
you should get some , they are very cheap, and just one bundle of it can make your tank look fairly planted since half floats on top and half is underwater so makes almost a cave made from leaves....
