The gravel that I'm using isn't the cutsey plastic stuff that you can buy in a bag and has been painted. It's actual rock - which has just been polished a bit and sold in bulk bins without lids (and as I've explained, I boiled it to remove anything on it from the air pollution in the store...)
As for the plastic plants, well I learned first hand why one should not boil Plastic Plants.
I did and ruined about $20 worth of plants. LOL Oh well - lesson learned!
(in case you're wondering what happens, the leaves and stems become warped and unsteady causing the plant to collapse. Some parts of it melt and stick to your pot.)
