hi all i have a large piece of bogwood and wanted to liven it up abit would it be possible to drill through it and secure a few plants maybe evan an air stone to it.
Its extremely common to attach Jave Ferns and Java Moss to wood. No need to drill holes, you can attach Jave Ferns by sticking a few of the roots here and there with superglue (I suppose you might check in the planted tank section for the exact recommendation of type of glue.) And yes, wood can be a good way to provide some coverage for your airstone.
java fern/ java moss will attach itself... just initialy put the mess (for moss) around it or attach roots with string or rubber bands(for fern)
you can also do the same with anubis... i have a huge mother plant (just about to flower) on a piece of bw realy nice leave and virtualy indestructable
Yes, I certainly meant that the java ferns will attach themselves, its just that lately people have found a few dots of superglue to be quicker and simpler than other attachement techniques for the start-off. -wd-
