Bn Attacking Each Other?

Well I was getting rid of an old 29 gallon tank from my ex's place today and just before I was going to dump it into the dumpster I noticed one of my old BN pleco was still alive in there. I ran back into my place and rescued it. I placed it into my 29 gallon with the below stocking:

1 Keyhole
1 Platy
1 Opalaine Gourami
7 Coolie
1 BN
1 Upside Down Catfish

Well shortly after placing him in there the 2 pleco started to wrestle and fight. Should I be concerned? One is male and the other is female so I don't know if this is suppose to be happening. Also once this is sorted out how much more room do I have in this tank still?

Keep an eye on them, if its constant aggression day after day you will need to rehome one.

Additional-Plenty of hiding places will help...if there is only one good hiding place they will fight for it.

BN attacking each other is quite normal - so you will have to follow blue's advice

Well I am in class right now so I don't know how things are going but I made sure to turn off the light before I left. The tank has lots of free space (pic below):

Also the BN I saved has a torn top fin (cant think of the name), how should I go about taking care of it? Would good water changes and time solve the problem or do I need to do more?

If BNs are like my garras, they will flare and "wrestle" (no biting, as their mouth deisgn like I BNs I think, is not capable of biting chunks out of other fish) for a few days, but then things should calm down. You certainly have plenty of line of sight barriers, but I would suggest adding three well-spaced out mini plant pots, so each BN can claim a "cave."

As for your stocking, if there is room, I reckon your upside down cat needs company if it is a Synodontis negriventris. They are like African cory catfish, very social.

if you have a male and female i wouldnt worry
about just make sure there is plenty of hide holes
with a bit of a flow through them then just keep an eye
open for baby bristle noses if they are to males you might have to
re home one to females there should be OK

Bristlenoses as most plecs will fight if more than one in a tank,but its nothing too seriously usually,but i have found bn's to be aggressive little blighters,making up for it i suppose, mind when i rehomed to large sailfin pleco's with my then very large sailfin there was alot of fighting going down,so i had to rehome the other two again...Just keep an eye, but as very well suggested,get a few terracotta flower pots,then wedge these under the bogwood so forming hiding places,then one day maybe they may even lay eggs, the female lays eggs,then job done, male is the one who cares for them there after,

another trick you can try which has worked for me in the past is to move around all your decorations like rocks,drift wood etc.this takes away the old bn hiding spaces hes protecting and gives them both a new start.give it a go might work in your case.
