Hi i have 2 blood parrot fish 1 female 1 male,
they've been fine together for a good 6 months but recently the male seems to be harrassing the female quite a bit chasing her around, he doesn't seem to be hurting her but she seems pretty fed up and just gets chased to the same part of the tank and stays there helplessly, is there any reason as to why he's only just starting doing this? and is there anyway to prevent this from happening ? thank you.

i think the male is trying to play and have a bit of fun. If your not happy with this just return the female

Sounds like they are actually reaching sexual maturity. The male is either bullying her because he wants to breed or because, as with many cichlids, he's getting territorial. Do you have a picture of your tank? Additional decorations and plants could help. Depending on the size of your tank you may need to get more females. If you have a video of the behavior that would also be helpful.
