how do you treat swim bladder?

well think mine was either constipatio or water quality that started it but heres what i did:

put him in the tank pictured with half the water there is in the pic, fed him a pea (was going to fast him first but he looked like he was on deaths door so went ahead and fed pea) next day better but still floating, continued the fast, next day even better so fed another pea, next day no floating at all so added more water, next day fed him 2 pellets all good, and have since been changing 50% water everyother day and adding more whilst cleaning
