Sometimes Right, Sometimes Wrong but ALWAYS certai
Hi, sorry no photos
In my small tank (see sig.) I keep getting this black coating (algae?) forming. It is soft looking but does not rub off. It starts on the tips of leaves then slowly covers it (I now cut off any leaf showing first signs of it) It also has developed on an artificial log (resin) which is now soaking in bleach solution.
I have sand substrate, the lights are on for approx. 4hours morning and 4 hours evening. During the day low ambient light. My ammonia/nitrite levels are consistantly at zero with nitrates at 40 (from the tap
) I use Flourish Supliment for the real plants. No Co2.
My other tank right alongside does not suffer at all
Does anyone know what it is and the cause/remedy please?
