Sorry - been away from the forum for a little while. Been a little upset.

Just to let you know that the next morning, came down stairs and the poor little lad was no longer with us.

Thanks for all you're help - it is very much appreciated.

Could anyone suggest what it could have been? Tumour? Infection? Parasite?

I'd love to know, as I'd like to think that it was not infectious and would not infect the rest of the tank but I don't want to take any chances.

I just want to say how sorry I am that he didnt make it, poor little guy, you did your best, RIP.

Without knowing for definate what caused it, its hard to say whether this will bother the rest of your fish, all you can do is keep a close eye on them, maybe do some extra water changes and any signs of something wrong, post up here and see if anyone can help you out.

I would just do some daily water changes on your main tank, and keep a close eye on the other fish.
