Black Arowana

Been after an Arowana for my monster community project.
Thought about an Asian Aro, but I wouldn't want to spend all that money only for it to get damaged by the other tankmates (Emperor Snakeheads)
Silver or Black came to mind and in the end I decided to get a black (I love their dark metalicness as adults)

Well a few weeks back a friend said he has a juvi for me.

Today it arrived YAY!

very nice, the edge colouring is more towards red than the light orange on my silver, gorgeous fish.
wish i got a black now, would have been easier to get rid of then this silver! haha
how big is it at the moment?

Tiny Dave. It's about 3" now.
So I got some serious pumping to do before I add it plus the emperors and clown knife to the 210cm waiting!

haha yeah he'll be 10" before you know it! mine went from 9" to about 14" in about 4 weeks!

Haven't seen him make any attempt to eat since he went in, a little worried but hey it's only 24hrs!

Not much to look at really. This Arowana is in a 50gallon Quarantine.

There are some pics of my 7ft containing my huge Oscar, polys and gars and some of my 6ft containing smaller oscars, Dats and polys floating around these forums.

The tank that this aro and the Emperors are going into will be a 220cm x 90cm x 75cm Acrylic being made right now. expected delivery is March 6th (sat)
Will post some pics of that once I have it set up. Filtration will be 1x Eheim 2260 and 1x Eheim 2262 Canisters.

* Anyone living in Japan, China or Korea I am having my tank made by "Aqua Dream Factory". Very good prices, good reputation and built in Japan (not China)
2 week turn around. Well reccomended!

Dave if you were closer i would have had the silver, they are stunning, only problem is the four or so feet they grow,not many people have tanks to accomadate them, there are people looking for silvers on a/c but prob other end of country,as always the case....

You know this bussiness about drop eye, ive seen a video where the bloke had these floating plastic golf balls in the tank,with his filteration the balls were wizzing around one corner of the tank, when asked what they were for, he replied thats to help the keep there concentration upward instead of watching whats going on down below,thus no droop eye
