Dave if you were closer i would have had the silver, they are stunning, only problem is the four or so feet they grow,not many people have tanks to accomadate them, there are people looking for silvers on a/c but prob other end of country,as always the case....
You know this bussiness about drop eye, ive seen a video where the bloke had these floating plastic golf balls in the tank,with his filteration the balls were wizzing around one corner of the tank, when asked what they were for, he replied thats to help the keep there concentration upward instead of watching whats going on down below,thus no droop eye
I have read that dropeye seems to mainly affect Silver Arowana, and less often Asian, very rarely Black and pretty much never African.
Why could this be? Silver and Blacks are very close related, but why does it affect Silvers so much?
Anyhow, I may try this floating ball thing as mine gets older. (better to be safe than sorry)
And Nelly, I am feeding on Bloodworms, Krill, and occasionally little cuts of a local japanese whitebait type fish.
Will start pellet training in a few weeks.
