Bits Floating Around In Water

Just a quick question really. I have lots of tiny bits floating around in my tank. They're too small to tell what they are, they're just tiny little dots. My question is if I put some floss in my filter, will it fix it? Also, I have three media compartments - top (closest to output), middle and bottom. Which should I put the floss in?

could it be some sort of mold or fungus? is the tank newly setup or is it established already

I dont think so. They really are just tiny, tiny bits. They might be particles of sand that have decided to float (I'll admit that I didn't wash it out as thoroughly as I should have done before adding to my tank and sometimes my airstone disturbs the substrate).

yeah it might just be that, do you think it could just be tiny bits of food?

Put the floss in the last section the water flows through. Might not get all of it but should help.
