no it has stayed the same for the last 24 hours..right at 74 degrees. I wonder why she wanted me to add aquarium salt..on the package ot says it helps tropical fish to stay healthy. Man Im confused! Thanks everyone for tryin to help out this idiot~!
you can use it as a tonic when treating, are you sure it is salt (NaCl2) ot is it epsom salts (MgSO4)

it is just called aquarium salt on the package...it is what the lady at fish store handed me.

No its made by aquarium pharmecueticals..says it adds essential electrolites..helps gill function..and promotes disease recovery...maybe I got swindled..haha but it wasnt very expensive

Yes, agree with truck and inchworm,

Salt is not something you want. Salt has a legitimate use in some therapies for certain fish illnesses but the retailers try to expand this to regular use, as boxes of salt, just like boxes of carbon, are easy, regular money makers.

And, as inchworm says, learning the beginning tank setup things is much more complicated than keeping fish will eventually be, so don't be upset. You are going through the same things as beginners we see by the dozens each month. One of the reasons it seems so confusing is that the kind of advice, even though usually not meant intentionally to be wrong on the part of the worker, is on the really bad end of the scale, whereas the advice you'll find in a forum filled with experienced users and hobbyists of many years in forums like ours is at the other end of the scale. I retained some doubts about receiving advice on this forum for a while until gradually I realized it was for real and was the best advice I'd ever had before. Now my opinion is that even though a lot of different types of opinions can be expressed in a forum format, if you read fairly widely in it the power it offers to learn things is pretty amazing.

Read lots of thread, that too is a fun way to pick up things.

I'm not sure if this has been answered or not but for a heater you can place a 50w stealth in the 1st rear chamber. It requires removing the false floor.

Theo makes a 50w heater that will fit without removing the false floor.

I have a Stealth in my 14gal biocube (nano reef)
