hi all. i have a rather tall 7g quarantine tank and as you know my angel is in there. he seems lonely so i want to buy him a ten gallon tank and a mate. and i want the tank to be just the two of them. will it work?

Too small imo. I wouldn't put an angel in a tank less than 30" long and ideally 18" tall, which is going to be around the 20-25G mark.

My 2p.

agreed...you should probably get a tank like was just suggested to house your angel permanently cause i hope you're not gonna put it back in your your convict

no i learned my lesson. i would get a bigger tank but due to the economy i don't have much money to spend on a tank, unfortunatly.

You should check out Craigslist. You can usually find a pretty good deal on there and you'd be able to get a larger tank, but spend about the same (if not less) than if you were to buy a smaller tank brand new.

Hmm better sell your BMW M3 E46 :sly:

I wouldn't recommend anything less then a 29 gallon for Angels. As others said, check craigslist or even Ebay. If you can't afford a new tank then best give the angel to someone who can properly house him.

ok. i have heard that slowly you can transfer freshwater to saltwater. is this true?

There are freshwater Angels and saltwater Angels, but they are different fish. The saltwater Angels don't look the same as freshwater Angels do.

IMO the average joe wouldnt be able to determine a saltwater angel  .. thats how different the style and shape ect... is lol

well i know that but the employee at my fish store said that her molly was breeding to many times so she put it in a quarantine and slowly added salt and converted it in her saltwater.

the employee at my fish store said

Heres your first mistake: you actually took note of what they said. LFS employee's as a loose rule of thumb have absymal knowledge.

At least you're starting to do the right thing doing your own research on here.

now he has a roomate so it doesn't matter. my firemouth was bitten up a bit so i put him with the angel and i think they get along fine!
