Big 2,000 Gal Tank

thinking of setting up a 2,000gal tank in 10yr i have got qoutes and was thinking what to stock it with

this is not a pointless thread as i want to do the resurch sooner rather than later

i know my stock list will change alot in the 10yrs but just looking for idears

Man.....jus 2 say first of all ur one lucky S.O.B . 2ndly for a tank that size i kno wat id do! take advantage of the size and put fish in there that u wud never normaly get a chance to house........

a stocking level is something you add to over time

you dont go out set up the tank then buy all the fish the week after

something like a 450gal can take years to stock

you dont go out buy a african aro 10 x endys 20 x butterfly fish and what other fish you are planning do you

I completely disagree with everything you have said between this thread and the other. You give terrible advice and there is never a problem planning ahead whether its 10 years or 1 day. It doesnt matter. Why would you suggest not planning ahead and just go buy the tank. What if he gets his 1,000 gallon realizes he wants a great white and should have bought a 100,000 gallon. Then hes #### out of luck. The difference between his thread and yours is hes serious about his tank and he's 16 looking to get all the information he can get. Your an asshole and in the middle of a mid-life crisis and hate it.

IT TAKES YEARS TO STOCK A 450g ITS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN JUST RIGHT UP A LIST THE GO BUY IT WITH A 450g you will have a half empty tank for years to come

what im trying to point out hear is their is no point planning ahead as far as 2 yrs THINGS CHANGE as already state he is thinking of going to uni has he talked to his family about looking after a 450g tank when hes away at uni

Now that that is out the way, I would just like to say that I was planning the stocking to get a general idea of how much the tank would cost in TOTAL. There's no point me building the tank and then not being able to stock it due to lack of funding! Yes, I have spoken to my family about it... my dad is an avid fishkeeper himself.

Get over it mate - you just have a problem with me because you have no life. Go do something with your girlfriend/boyfriend.

as i have stated planning is the best even if you dont do it you learn while planning.

i did the stupid thing of going out and buying a 6 foot marine tank why because i didnt plan properly and like a fool rushed in safe to say it lost me money.

I hate people that just blame things on their illness! I have heart a lung problems.. I could just sit at home all day moping - Do I? No!

My mate has cystic fibrosis... does he stay at home all day? No! He's in his third year of vet school!

you just need to find the money for the tank stocking is something that happens over time

so your thread should have been how much to set up a 450g not to stock a tank you dont have
