Bichirpalooza

Ahhh so thats what they look like with full colouring!
Seriously nice that teugelsi, got to have a hunt around for one methinks....

They're great fish. Weird looking, in comparison to other bichirs, because of their elongation. The markings are superb and I really need to get a newer picture of it now. It has a nice orange head when colored up. :D

Ugh I find myself always checking this post for updates on your bichirs invader. You better watch out. I know where Orlando is and its not far from me.

I tried to get more pics, but the bichirs were camera shy. Maybe tomorrow, when I clean the tank. ;)

lovely as always invader. your plat. senegal sure has grown quite a lot compared to when you first got it. :good:

i do believe that your ornate would leave the other birchirs alone. and since you all have upper jaw species, they would be less aggressive and smaller compared to the lower jaws. a lapradei or endlicheri would look really good in there though its quite impossible

any thoughts of getting a delhezi?

Just finished cleaning the tank. Hopefully the fish will not be as shy when it clears all up, so I can take more pictures for you all. No pictures of the dragon knife as of yet as well... Very sneaky fish.

I've never seen that type of fish before!!
Which one are you referring to?

Yeah, she has grown a lot. When I look at her, she doesn't seem much bigger, but looking at old pictures of her really shows me how much she has grown! Sometimes I can't believe it.

I don't know about the ornate... she's already eaten 3 other fish before. She doesn't show any interest whatsoever to the other bichirs, but that still doesn't make me a bit suspicious. I keep telling myself that she would be alright with other bichirs, but I still can't risk it. I mean, imagine if she ate the senegalus???

I like laps and endlis, but I think my favorite species are the upper jaws. I don't know what it is about them. Although, I would not complain if I had my hands on some P. bichir bichir... :shifty:

I would love to get a delhezi, but they seem so hard to come by! It's funny, because I already have all of the rare species that I want, but the common species, like delhezi, I can't find! The other species that I am looking for is the P. palmas palmas. I know of someone who has one for sale now, but I am not getting any emails back from them, so I figured I would wait and see if another person gets them in...
